about

I started shooting photographs seriously when I was about 14. I've always been something of a voyeur, and capturing a moment, a person's glance, or an instant of fast action allowed me to go back and stare without feeling intimidated or like I was intimidating the subject. A person only has to look into your camera for a fraction of a second for you to spend endless hours staring back. That appealed to me greatly, and still does. I'm fascinated by people; their emotional baggage, their histories, their potential futures. Looking into someone's eyes provides a connection to all of those things, and if you catch the right moment, it's something everyone can see in your photograph. You can almost... almost... see a person's history if you look hard enough into their eyes.
I've been lucky enough to travel to some amazing places as a photographer. Paper mills in Wisconsin, Oil fields on the North Slope of Alaska and their floating-rig sisters in Trinidad, Salt estuaries in remote Bahamian islands, the Peruvian Amazon, and the mountains of Haiti among many other places, all equally fascinating and educational. I have learned so much more about the world- through photography- that has made me a rounder, more complete human being, than any other profession that I might have chosen.
Photography has been my passion for over 25 years, and I love it now more than I ever have. I hope to continue to photograph my world until my eyes stop seeing and my hands are no longer able to hold a camera. And I hope to continue to share my life, through my photographic vision, with my clients and loved ones for even longer.
Much love,
Bruce
